Global palm oil production will hit a record high in 2015/16

According to the US Department of Agriculture released a report on global oilseed markets and trade report, the world's palm oil production  in 2015/16 is expected to reach 65.17 million tons, an increase of 5.7% than the historical record of 2014/15, including Malaysia's production will restorative growth from this year's production level.

The report shows that palm oil is still the main edible oil, vegetable oil accounted for a third of the total consumption. In addition, the dosage of palm oil industrial tends to increase, especially in Indonesia and Malaysia. Because of a drop in crude oil prices,slowing overseas demand for imports of biodiesel, prompting the Indonesian government take active measures to increase the domestic biodiesel consumption.

2015/16 global palm oil trade growth is expected to recover from last year's levels drop, and hit a new record high, mainly because of increased demand in South and East Asia.

In terms of the major exporting countries, 2015/16 of palm oil exports in Indonesia is estimated to be 23.5 million tons, 1 million tons over the previous year. Malaysia's palm oil exports is expected to be 18 million tons,and increased of 800,000 tons.
