The introduction of The Dragon Boat Festival is as follows:
The Dragon Boat Festival is the 5th day of the fifth lunar month each year, also known as Duanyang Festival, or simply Duanwu, is one of the major traditional festivals of the Chinese nation. During its long historical evolution, the cultural essence and activities of Double Fifth Festival celebrations have constantly undergone change, and the festival customs such as eating zongzi rice dumplings, racing dragon boats, hanging calamus, wearing sachets and drinking realgar wine were formed.
The Han ethnic group has plenty of customs for celebrating the Double Fifth Festival and the customs of some minority ethnic groups are also interesting. For instance, during the Double Fifth Festival, people of the Yi ethnic group in the Xiaoliangshan area of Sichuan province climb mountains to collect herbal medicines in order to cure or avoid diseases.
